Strategies for Working with People with Special Needs

Mary Ibis 

Associate Director of Music 

Second Presbyterian Church, Little Rock

Mary has served Second Presbyterian Church, Little Rock, as Associate Director of Music since 2001. Her responsibilities include children’s music and handbells. Mary resources the Accessibility Task Force at SPC, which works towards universally designed structure and programming. In the 18-19 children’s choir, there were 42 total participants, 26 with diagnoses.

Mary earned a B.M.E. from Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She’s led clinics for HMA area 6 and the local Orff ASOA. She has served Presbyterian Association of Musicians as both a children’s choir clinician and as a conference director. Mary is the mother to two special needs children



The Presbyterian Association of Musicians believes that formative and collaborative experiences with God and neighbor nurture relationships and create community.


PAM is a national organization of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for people who are involved in the areas of worship, music, and the arts.
