Webinar #9

Handchimes in the Church

Featuring:

Kathy Ebling Shaw

Director, Westminster Concert Bell Choir

Westminster Choir College of Rider University

Join us and explore the uses of handchimes in ringing and singing rehearsals to teach musical skills. Through the lessons demonstrated, participants will gain knowledge in presenting short lessons to teach rhythm, music literacy and harmony to name a few.

We will address ringing ensembles and learn how to choose appropriate handbell scores to be used on handchimes alone. Also, we will address how to incorporate handchimes into the handbell score using them to add variety in voicing and color.

Finally, gain some ideas for adding ringing instruments to embellish worship.  We’ll offer some easy ways of using handchimes and handbells throughout the service.
