Getting
started
• Double click the Icon to open the program
• Follow the instructions for setting up your church
• First screen that opens after setup is called "Smart Start".
Explore that page quickly by running the cursor over it and to be introduced
to the resource.
• Click on the red X in the upper right corner to close "Smart-Start"
• Click next on Calendar and move to the month of November,
2008
• Click on the 3rd Sunday, “Christ the King” · Lord's
Day with Eucharist is the default liturgy template, but you can chose from over
50 different
liturgy templates, alter any of them or create your own.
• Click on the Lord's Day with Eucharist and a tri partite planning
screen opens.
• Left side is the liturgy and all its parts (remember these
can be moved or changed)
• Click on any element of the Liturgy and in the upper right box, appears a list
of appropriate prayers, hymns, readings etc. · Click on “Opening
Prayer“ and in the upper right hand box several titles appear.
• Click on #1 and in the lower box, the full text appears.
• You may double click one of the selections and it will automatically become part
of the bulletin, or you may use the "create your own" function.
• Continue working your way through the liturgy editing and
making context appropriate choices
• When you have finished your selections, click "create bulletin" and
a full text version of your order of worship appears. It is completely editable.
• Store it in your LabOra files, share it with other staff members
An Angel sent to help you
• Click on the "Angel with the briefcase" in the toolbar.
• On the left side of the screen appearing under various titles
is over 30 of the resources that LabOra contains.
• Click on the Hymnal.
• In the upper right window all of the hymns are listed in numerical order
• Click on #1
• Then click Play (the megaphone icon), and you can hear what the hymntune
sounds like
• Then click on "show score" and you can see what
the hymn looks like and download that particular hymn, psalm or service music
into the bulletin
you are preparing.
Click and Print
When you are ready to see your finished bulletin, including artwork,
click on "click
and print" and voila * a finished print ready bulletin appears (which can
still be edited). [Microsoft Word 2000 or greater is required for the “Click
and Print” feature]
