Congregation's Expectations:    First Presbyterian Church of Winston-Salem is committed to excellence in both classic and vernacular worship styles. Our two worship venues include our newly renovated sanctuary, ideal for classical and traditional church music, and a brand new worship center ideal for contemporary amplified music. The organist will serve primarily in the Sanctuary service. At the present time there is one Sanctuary service (9:30 a.m.) and one contemporary service (11 a.m.) each Sunday morning. Having just dedicated our renovated Sanctuary in March 2008, we are enjoying a season of vitality and joy. 

Additional Comments:    The successful candidate will be an excellent organist and accomplished accompanist on both piano and organ, with good organizational and leadership skills. Strong Christian faith essential. Responsibilities: play organ for Sunday worship services; accompany Sanctuary choir and other musicians on organ and piano; direct the adult hand bell ensemble; direct or oversee children’s choirs; assist in administration of Sanctuary choir; coordinate instrumental ensembles for Sanctuary services.
