Other instruments:  Pianos, The sanctuary contains a 6.4 foot Steinway grand piano model A as well as two Mason Hamlin grand pianos and a harpsichord. The chapel contains a Steinway grand piano as well as a 34-rank 3-manual Austin organ built in 1968
Congregation's Expectations:   
Position Description: Provide organ and/or piano music for all worship services including two Sunday morning services, special services such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, and other special services. Serve as organist for weddings and funerals, or secure an appropriate substitute. Accompany 30-40 member Chancel Choir at weekly evening and Sunday morning rehearsals. First Presbyterian Church has a blended worship service, and candidates should be familiar with both traditional and contemporary worship styles. In addition to organ and/or piano and percussion accompaniment, we frequently utilize other instrumental accompaniment. A Masters in Music, AGO certification, and/or equivalent experience is desired.

First Presbyterian Church has a long tradition of excellence in music and Christ-centered worship. In addition to the Chancel Choir, other ensembles include a praise band, children’s choir, adult and youth handbell choirs and occasional instrumental ensembles. We seek a committed follower of Jesus Christ who has a passion for bringing others into the presence of God in worship.

Additional Comments:     We are also looking for a part-time interim choir director and part-time interim contemporary music director. Any of these three positions can be combined depending on the gifts and skill of the applicant. The position will be assisted by a full-time Worship Program Coordinator who is currently on staff.
