We
are planning a week-long summer music and drama camp for children
from third grade through high school. During the week they
will rehearse
and prepare a musical
to present at the end of the week. The younger kids will present “A Technicolor
Promise” by Allen Pote. The teenagers will be preparing a musical about
pride and fame based on the popular TV show entitled “America Ideal.” Expected
attendance is at lest 80 kids from many churches al over the San Diego area.
The
purpose of the camp will be not only to prepare a musical to be used in a worship
service later in the week, but to impress upon the children that worship
comes in many forms. Just the process of rehearsing and preparing is an act
of worship.
